These words describe a person who lacks skill in doing something.

The word with the broadest use is bad. You can be bad at something or bad at doing something.


I was overweight and bad at sport.

You can describe someone’s work as amateurish when it is not of a good standard. This is a disapproving word.


Her first efforts at writing were amateurish to say the least.
