| 释义 | datura noun[ C ]
 uk /dəˈtjʊə.rə/ us /dəˈtjʊr.ə/
any of several plants or bushes often grown in gardens, with large flowers that have a wide round opening at the top, sloping sides, and a narrow base, and leaves and seeds containing a substance used as a psychoactive drug (= one that affects your mind) or poison:
Prune daturas if they have become misshapen or too big.
Datura leaves are roughly textured with sharply pointed lobes and the stems are a purplish colour.
Daturas seem to have done well in pots outside this summer.
The datura and rhododendron were in full bloom in the garden.
Because datura is a legal plant, its cultivation or use as a drug cannot be policed.
