The roses in these beds have had a history of downy mildew. Fungal diseases such as downy mildew can occur in wet, humid conditions and are spread by water splash and wind. Downy mildew usually appears well after cucumbers are harvested. Alliums may suffer from common onion problems such as downy mildew.
